Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree with European Studies as secondary area of studies and has just obtained his Diploma in Notarial Studies. He is currently in his fifth year leading to a Doctorate in Law. Matthew intends furthering his studies in Commercial Law.

Professional Experience

Before joining Chetcuti Cauchi, Matthew used to work in the field of EU law and EU relations at the Mata-EU Information Centre (MIC). This centre was responsible for the dissemination of EU related information in the run up to the referendum regarding EU Membership.  His duties included research on the effect of EU Membership on a variety of fields.

Legal Research

In fulfilment of doctoral research, Matthew is researching a thesis dealing with an analysis of the recent landmark cases on the duties, responsibilities and liabilities of Company Directors and the lifting of the corporate veil.
