Anton is an associate in the Financial Services and in the Corporate Services
practice groups. He specialises in the licensing processes of investment
services providers and funds as well as the constitution of foundations and
voluntary organisations.
Professional Experience
Anton is responsible for providing financial institutions, financial services
operators and funds intending to establish themselves in Malta with advice and
assistance in the setting up of their businesses as well as with their ongoing
compliance with Maltese legislation. Besides, he has also advised to the setting
up of a number of foundations and Voluntary Organisations of a local and an
international character besides advising a number of commercial entities with
their business needs.

a strict liability approach?", (2009)
In his thesis Anton sought
to examine whether the stance taken in recent times by the
Maltese legislation and the courts in matters of occupational
health and safety marks a move towards the introduction of
strict liability in Malta.

"Investor and Depositor Compensation
Schemes in the light of the recent financial crisis - time for a
major upheaval?"
In his thesis Anton is seeking to examine
whether the compensation schemes applicable in Malta and in the
EU, especially the depositor compensation scheme has been robust
enough in avoiding bank runs as well as instilling depositor
trust in the financial system during the recent financial
crisis. The thesis will conclude with a number of proposals for
change in an area of the law that is essential to the
maintenance of systemic stability in the financial system.
